Things To Do in Elora
Recreation & Activities
When visiting Elora, be sure to pack an adventurous spirit along with hiking shoes, swim gear, bicycle, a camera and lots of film. Cycle a portion of the Trans-Canada Trail, which links Elora with other rural communities. Or explore the area on walking trails in the village and throughout the Elora Gorge Conservation Area. Discover trails that descend to the river’s edge in the midst of terrific limestone cliffs and caves. Bring a canoe or kayak and paddle the waters, or rent a tube and go “tubing” down the Grand River rapids. Bissell Park is a four season, open-air location for picnics, skate boarding, football, soccer and ice-skating. It is also the take-off point for hot air balloon rides. Whatever the activity, Elora is surrounded by some of the most spectacular scenery in Southern Ontario. The Elora Centre for the Arts has creative activities and learning experiences for people of all ages. Summer craft programs are also available at the Wellington County Museum & Archives. The unique Gorge Cinema, housed in a century-old stone building, presents a line-up of the best in art and current films. YIKES! MONSTERS ARE TAKING OVER ELORA! Elora will be the scariest destination anywhere this October! Our shops are invited to ghost up their windows and restaurants will add gory stuff to their menus. All of Elora will be putting their most horrible foot forward... join in the mayhem of MONSTER MONTH! Elora is also home to the Grand River Raceway featuring standard bred racing, dining and a slot facility. For a complete listing of what's going on in and around Elora, see our Events Calendar.
